My Time Off (MTO)
The My Time Off (MTO) programme gives you the flexibility to take time off when you need it. In most cases, team members are eligible to participate in the MTO programme upon hire.
The MTO programme is made up of paid time off (PTO) and unlimited time off (UTO).
Paid time off (PTO)
Gen provides paid annual leave of 20 to 25 days, based on age.
Unlimited time off (UTO)
Once you have used your statutory PTO, you can request UTO through your people leader.

The information below provides an overview of leaves of absence. You can find more information—including instructions to request a leave—on Gen Central.
Sick leave
From the first through the 10th day of illness, Gen pays the refund for sick leave. Starting with the 11th day, sick pay is provided by the Slovak Social Insurance Company.
Family member care leave
You can take up to 10 days to care for a family member, or up to 16 days if you are a single parent. Compensation comes from Gen as a sickness insurance benefit, beginning on the first day of your leave.
Maternity leave
Maternity leave starts six to eight weeks before the estimated birth date. Its total duration is 34 weeks for the birth of one child and 43 weeks for the birth of two or more children. You can receive 37 weeks if you are a single mother. During maternity leave, the Slovak Social Insurance Company pays 75% of your gross wage.
Paternity leave
A nonbirthing parent can take 14 days for paternity leave and spend some time with a new family member. Paternity leave must start within six weeks after the birth of the child. A paternity allowance is paid by the Slovak Social Insurance Company.
Parental leave
You can take parental leaves of varying lengths within six years after the birth of your baby. The Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family pays a parental leave allowance of €275,90 (or €378,10 if you’ve been receiving a maternity allowance).
You can work full time or part time during the period of parental leave.
