Gen recognises the importance of benefit programmes that provide financial protection to team members and their families.

Group term life insurance

Gen covers all eligible team members under group term life insurance through Aditya Birla Life Insurance Company at no cost to you. The policy pays a benefit to the beneficiary in case of your accidental or natural death.

Eligibility

Full-time team members are eligible for group term life insurance. Dependants are not eligible for cover.

Cover expires as soon as you leave the organisation. 

Cover

You are insured for 3 times your annual base salary, with a minimum of ₹20,00,000 and a maximum of ₹210,70,109. 

The Marsh team will reach out to team members whose cover would exceed the free cover limit (FCL) of ₹210,70,109. You will be required to complete a medical questionnaire and an individual underwriting process.

* After completing the underwriting process, the insurer will decide whether the team member’s cover will be enhanced to 3 times the annual base salary or will remain at the FCL of ₹210,70,109. 

Group personal accident insurance

This policy provides benefits in the event of disability due to an accident while in service with the company. Cover is provided by Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company.

Eligibility

All full-time team members are eligible for the group personal accident insurance. Dependants are not eligible for cover.

Cover

Accidental death or permanent total disability

In the event of accidental death or total disability, the benefit payable is the full sum insured, which is 3 times your annual base salary with a minimum of ₹10,00,000 and a maximum of ₹50,00,000. 

Permanent partial disability

Permanent partial disability is covered as a percentage of the sum insured, based on a scale of benefits depending on the disability.

Temporary disability (weekly compensation)

If you are not able to work due to a temporary disability, you will be entitled to receive 1% of the sum insured each week, with a maximum of ₹20,000, for up to 104 weeks.

Note that the weekly payout under this benefit can only be paid to you if you are on leave without pay. Leave without pay is at your people leader’s discretion. It is expected that you will exhaust your current privilege and sick leave before proceeding to leave without pay.

Outpatient (OPD) expenses

You can claim outpatient (OPD) expenses of up to ₹20,000 arising from an accident while in service with Gen.

How to raise a claim

Submit your claim to Marsh representative Neha Gujar with a cc to Hemant Arivale with the documentation noted below.

Permanent total disability or permanent partial disability

  • Claim form duly filled up
  • All medical investigation reports, X-rays, etc.
  • All hospitalisation bills and treatment papers
  • Disability certificate from a civil surgeon or senior surgeon from a reputed hospital
  • Copy of driving license (if injured while driving)
  • Salary slip
  • Police intimation (whether panchnama or FIR) to know that the case has been reported to the police
  • NEFT form and cancelled cheque for claim reimbursement

Weekly compensation (temporary disability)

  • Claim form duly filled up
  • NEFT form and cancelled cheque for claim reimbursement
  • Attending doctor’s certificate for treatment and fitness

OPD expenses

  • Claim form duly filled up and submitted within 30 days
  • OPD treatment documents: e.g., bills, receipts, reports, prescriptions
  • NEFT form and cancelled cheque for claim reimbursement

Accidental death

  • Claim form duly filled up by the nominee
  • Photo ID of nominee (where applicable)
  • Claim intimation or claim reference number
  • Attested copies of KYC documents of nominee: e.g., PAN card, ration card, voter ID
  • Original discharge card, day care summary, or transfer summary (where applicable)
  • Attested copy of medical legal certificate, first information report copy, or panchnama (spot or inquest), where applicable
  • NEFT form and cancelled cheque for claim reimbursement
