Time off

Gen offers generous time off to rest, relax, and recharge.

My Time Off (MTO)

The My Time Off (MTO) program provides guidelines that give you the flexibility to take time off when you need it. In most cases, team members are eligible to participate in the MTO program upon hire.

The MTO program is made up of paid time off (PTO) for nonexempt team members and unlimited time off (UTO) for exempt team members.

Nonexempt (hourly) team members

Nonexempt team members use paid time off (PTO) for personal time or vacation. You start earning PTO on your first day of employment.

Full-time team members accrue 20–30 days of PTO, depending on your length of service. Team members who work less than 40 hours per week accrue PTO on a prorated basis for the standard hours worked per week.

Eligible nonexempt team members receive 40 hours of paid sick leave (PSL) at the beginning of each year.

Exempt team members

Exempt team members request time off under the MTO program’s unlimited time off (UTO) policy and are also provided additional days off (ADOs) annually for paid sick leave and qualified statutory leaves of absence. You’ll receive 15–30 ADOs per year, depending on your length of service.

Other time off

Gen complies with federal, state, and local laws that provide time off for school visitation, family members of service members, victims of violence, and other specified reasons. If you have a question about time off, contact People & Payroll SupportNow.

Bereavement

You will receive up to five days of paid bereavement time in the event of a family member’s passing.

Jury and witness duty

You can fulfill your civic responsibility by serving as a juror without loss of pay for up to 10 days per calendar year.

If you are summoned to appear as a witness in court and are not a party to the action, you’ll be paid for the time off for up to three workdays.
