A commuter spending account through MyChoice Accounts lets you set aside money on a pretax basis to help pay for your commuting expenses.
Accounts moving to Fidelity
Fidelity will administer commuter accounts for Gen team members, replacing MyChoice Accounts, starting January 1, 2025.
Eligibility
All U.S. team members who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in a commuter spending account.
How it works
When you enroll, you will receive a NetBenefits CommuterCard that allows you to pay for eligible mass transit and parking expenses at the time of service.
You can check your balance anytime at netbenefits.com or via the Fidelity mobile app.
There are two ways to use your commuter spending account. Enroll in one or both.
Transit
Use for mass transit expenses to and from work, including the bus, train, and light rail.
- Monthly maximum: $315.
- Use your NetBenefits CommuterCard to purchase transit passes, fare cards, or tickets.
- Unused funds roll over to the following month as long as you participate in the plan.
Parking
Use for parking expenses near your Gen office or mass transit location.
- Monthly maximum: $315.
- Use your NetBenefits CommuterCard to pay for parking at locations that have a “parking” merchant category code and accept credit cards. Alternatively, you can file a claim for reimbursement on netbenefits.com or via the Fidelity mobile app.
- Unused funds roll over to the following month as long as you participate in the plan.
How to enroll
Log in to benefitsolver.com (or through Benefitsolver on MyApps), and select Change My Benefits > Life Event > Update Parking / Transit Election.
Your NetBenefits CommuterCard will be mailed to your home address.
Parking reimbursement
If you do not pay on a monthly basis or your parking vendor doesn’t accept the NetBenefits CommuterCard, you can request reimbursement:
- Log in to netbenefits.com.
- Select Flexible Spending and Reimbursement Accounts.
- Click the Reimburse yourself tile.
- Select your commuter account, and follow the on-screen instructions.
